Beos was taken from BataviascheOosterSpoorwegMaatschapijor the Eastern Batavia Train Fleet). Some said that Beos is the short of Batavia En Omstreken or Batavia and around because this station connects Batavia with Bogor, Bekasi, Bandung, and also Karawang.
- Bank Mandiri Museum. This museum was established in 1998. At the beginning, the building was a building for Dutch trade office that was developing toward banking. This building has a classic art deco, designed by three different Dutch architects. The construction started in 1929 and completed in 1933. Even before the creation of air conditioner, this building had a marvelous air system where it used its own specialized wind catcher tower that was then connected to the pipes inside the building. The design was meant to deliver and channel fresh air before air conditioner was invented, so the inside of the building was pretty fresh and cool. However, this system was closed in the 70s because the air in Jakarta is getting dirty. There is another uniqueness of the building where the building itself is pretty big and wide, up to 10,039 square feet but the parking lot is only able to accommodate several cars. It’s because there were only a few people who had cars in the old days so the parking lot was made and designed small.
- Bank Indonesia Museum. This building was originally a hospital that is located right across Jakarta Kota station and was built in 1828. In 2009, the hospital was turned into a museum – up until today.
